Reassessment of the experimental skin permeability coefficients of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and organophosphorus pesticides

چکیده
Human exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) by dermal route is a continuing concern in environmental occupational toxicology. Diverse authors have measured vitro the absorption flux permeability coefficient (kP) of those compounds delivered on skin surface using volatile solvents. However, there isn’t harmonized method obtain kP when test substance deposited as solid. Consequently, varied experimental kPs been reported for PAHs OPPs, most clear disagreement with values predicted well-established mathematical models. In this work, we collected permeation fluxes these toxicants through human calculated (aqueous) based maximum water solubility. The reanalyzed recalculated show improved consistency between different works Notably, benzo[a]pyrene, among others, was approximately 100 times higher than it had previously considered. Suggestions are given generalize studies other solvent-deposited drugs.

Investigating the Presence of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Doogh
Background and purpose: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are one of the most common environmental pollutants that are proven to be carcinogenic and mutagenic. Doogh, is a widely consumed fermented yoghurt drink in Iran. The aim of this study was to determine the presence and concentration of PAHs in different brands of Doogh in Tehran, Iran. Materials and methods: In this study, we synt...
متن کاملDetection of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Hide and Skin of Slaughtered Cattle and Goats in Anambra State, Nigeria
Background: Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are among hazardous chemicals that may endanger food safety. In Nigeria, hides and skins of animals are edible and used in dishes. So, this study investigated the levels of PAHs in singed and unsinged hides and skins of animals slaughtered at three districts abattoirs (Obosi, Uga, and Kwata) in Anambra State, Nigeria. Methods: Using gas chrom...
متن کاملBiodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of potentially hazardous chemicals of environmental and health concern. PAHs are one of the most prevalent groups of contaminants found in soil. Biodegradation of complex hydrocarbon usually requires the cooperation of more than single specie. In this research biotreatment of PAH (phenanthrene) was studied in a solid-phase reactor using indigenou...
متن کاملTransport of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in a Calcareous Wetland Soil
Knowledge of transport and degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is important in assessing PAH contamination of soils and water resources. The transport of naphthalene, anthracene, pyrene and phenanthrene was determined in a contaminated calcareous soil obtained from the Shadegan wetland (Khozestan, Iran) considering a column study in laboratory conditions. The PAHs were added ...
متن کاملDetermination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Ambient Urban Air
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHS) have been determined in the atmosphere of Isfahan, Iran. Airborne particulate matter was sampled using a high-volume air sampler at roof-top level (~6m). Extraction of PAHS from airborne particulate matter has been performed using SFE system and the relationship between the extraction temperature and the recovery of PAHS</su...
